NEW Wood‘s Lamp Skin Fungus Detector Phosphor Vitiligo Pityriasis Versicolor Melasma Detector Woods Light Examination

 WOOD'S lamp detection principle

1. WOOD lamp is a method of checking some skin diseases by using 320nm ~ 400nm long-wave ultraviolet light obtained through a filter glass containing nickel oxide, which will help the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases.

2. WOOD lamp is helpful for the diagnosis of pigmented skin diseases (including vitiligo). Clinically, it is sometimes difficult to detect light spots on normal skin, especially fair skin, with the naked eye. Vitiligo can be easily detected with WOOD light, and can be distinguished from other leukoplakia, especially when hair follicle recoloring begins to appear in the leukoplakia, the initial stage of recoloring is not obvious under natural light, but it can be confirmed by observation with WOOD light.

3. The skin lesions of vitiligo under the WOOD lamp are pure white, in sharp contrast with the surrounding normal skin, with clear boundaries. Depigmented moles, pityriasis white, nodular sclerosis, hypopigmented spots after inflammation, and hypopigmented spots of leprosy are yellow-white or off-white under the WOOD lamp; tinea versicolor is brown or yellow-white; anemic moles are pale White skin lesions cannot be displayed.

How Does Woods Lamp Work?

A Wood’s lamp is a small handheld device that uses black light to illuminate areas of your skin. The light is held over an area of skin in a darkened room. The presence of certain bacteria or fungi, or changes in the pigmentation of your skin will cause the affected area of your skin to change color under the light.

Some of the conditions that a Wood’s lamp examination can help diagnose include:

tinea capitis

pityriasis versicolor

vitiligo
